The public hearing closed at 8:37 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at 8:37 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Kociscak, to recommend City <br />Council adoption of text and map amendments to Chapter 9. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Kociscak, and Brauer. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Reeve, Sweet, and Watson. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Request for an Extension to Implement the Conditional Use Permit for a <br />Recycling Facility for Metals and Landscape Timbers; Case of St. Paul <br />Terminals <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik stated the City issued a conditional use permit to St. <br />Paul Terminals on June 26, 2001. City Code states that the applicant has one year to initiate the <br />conditional use permit unless they request and receive an extension. St. Paul Terminals has not <br />initiated their conditional use permit for a metal recycling facility. On March 20, 2002, the City <br />received a written request from Bradley J. Martinson, legal representative for St. Paul Terminals, <br />requesting an extension to initiate the conditional use permit. The City is also continuing to <br />work with St. Paul Terminals for a possible future expansion and development of an all enclosed <br />facility in the industrial park. City Staff is recommending approval of the request for extension. <br /> <br />She noted Bradley J. Martinson, legal representative for St. Paul Terminals was present. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Kociscak to recommend that the <br />City Council grant a one-year extension to St. Paul Terminals for the establishment of the <br />conditional use approved in Resolution #01-06-240 for a recycling facility. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Kociscak, and Brauer. <br />Voting No: None.
