Councilmember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #04-08-211 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE SOLICITATION OF BIDS FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 04-33 156th AVENUE <br />DRAINAGE OUTLET PROJECT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a low point in topography exists along the 7700 block of 156th Avenue for <br />which there is no outlet; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during certain events, particularly spring thaw conditions, water ponds <br />adjacent to the residence located at 7735 156th causing the threat of flooding; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the threat of flooding has caused the City to respond in the past with <br />emergency pumping; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a drainage and utility easement has been donated to the city by Gregory and <br />Kathleen Bemes, neighbors residing at 156th Avenue to relieve this problem; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, plan and specifications have been prepared for a storm sewer outlet running <br />between 156th Avenue and Alpine drive; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this project will be funded by the City Storm Water Utility. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1 ) The plans and specifications prepared for the above referenced project are hereby accepted <br /> and; <br /> <br />2) The City Administrator is directed to solicit bids for said project. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Cook, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Kurak <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Strommen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #04-08-211 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
