CASE <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR A HOME OCCUPATION PERMIT; <br />CASE OF CHAD AND LISA LINDGREN <br /> By: Amy Geisler, Associate Planner <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City has received an application from Chad and Lisa Lindgren for a home occupation permit <br />to establish a one-chair hair salon in their home located at 5561 145th Circle NW. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) <br />b) <br />c) <br />c) <br />d) <br /> <br />Site location map <br />Site layout exhibits <br />Draft Planning Commission meeting minutes dated October 7, 2004 <br />Proposed findings of fact <br />Proposed home occupation permit <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />In accordance with State statute, Staff notified property owners within 350 feet o£ the sUbject <br />property of' the public hearing. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />Chad and Lisa Lindgren are proposing to establish a one-chair hair salon in their home, located at <br />5561 145th Circle NW. City Code restricts home occupations to 20% of the gross floor area of the <br />home. The room in which the home occupation will take place is approximately 138 square feet, <br />which equates to about 7% of the gross floor area. <br /> <br />Mrs. Lindgren will be the sole employee. Proposed operating hours are Tuesdays 3:00 PM - 8:00 <br />PM, Wednesdays 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM,' Thursdays 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM, and Saturdays 9:00AM - <br />12:00 PM. There will be few if any deliveries to the site and client parking can be accommodated <br />in the applicants' driveway. The applicants expect to receive approximately 8-24 clients per <br />week. <br /> <br />Thc Planning Commission held a public hearing at their October 7, 2004 meeting and <br />recommended approval of' the request. In the past, several similar home occupation permits have <br />been issued by ~he City. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />The Planning Commission and City staff recommend approval of the request for home <br />occupation permit. <br /> <br /> <br />
