CASE # REQUEST FOR AN INTERIM USE PERMIT TO ALLOW FOR OUTDOOR STORAGE IN THE E-2 EMPLOYMENT DISTRICT; CASE OF BRUCE VOLK By: Megan Wald, Associate Planner Background: Bruce Volk of B & A Cylinder has submitted an application for an Interim Use Permit to allow for outdoor storage of Recreational Vehicles (RV) as a secondary principal use on the property located at 14165 Ramsey Blvd. The following items are enclosed for your review: a) b) c) d) e) Site location map Plarming Commission meeting minutes dated November 6, 2003 City Council meeting minutes dated November 25, 2003 Draft Planning Commission meeting minutes dated October 7, 2004 Proposed Resolution for Findings of Fact Proposed Resolution to approve Interim Use Permit Notification: State law requires notification to properties within 350 feet of the boundaries of the subject property and property owners within that radius were notified. Observations: Mr. Volk's property is approximately 4.5 acres in size and is zoned E-2 Employment: Mr. Volk is operating a manufacturing facility as the principal use on the subject property. The applicant received an interim use permit on November 25, 2003 to store RV's on the property as a secondary principal use until August 1, 2004. The interim use permit has expired and therefore Mr. Volk submitted an interim use permit application requesting to store RV's on the subject property from November 1,2004 through August 1, 2005. The Planning Commission held a public hearing and reviewed the request at their October 7, 2004 meeting. Recommendation: Thc Planning Commission recommended approving the interim use permit request effective November l, 2004 and expiring August 1, 2005. Council Action: Motion to adopt Findings of Fact relating to a request from Bruce Volk for an interim use permit for outdoor storage as a secondary principal Use at 14165 Ramsey Blvd.
