Motion was amended by Councilmember Elvig to grant the interim use permit for one year with <br />an expiration date of August 2004, but Councilmember Cook did not second the amendment. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Kurak inquired if the applicant would incur additional costs <br />to renew the application in one year. Community Development Director Frolik replied yes, <br />explaining that the applicant would have to pay an application fee of $500..Councilmember <br />Kurak replied that she had a problem with requiring the applicant to incur additional fees <br />especially since she did not think that anything would happen in two years that would be so <br />eventful. <br /> <br />Motion by Councitmember Elvig, seconded by Mayor Gamec, to amend the original motion to <br />grant the interim use permit for one year with an expiration date of August 1, 2004. <br /> <br />Amendment Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Vicki Volk, 14165 Ramsey Boulevard NW, Ramsey, inquired if they are going to be required to <br />go through the entire process again and pay the application fee next year if RV World needs a <br />place to store their units. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied <br /> <br />Case #2: Request forXa~Conditional Use Permit for an Oversized Accessory Building; <br /> Case of Don V'olner <br /> <br />Community Development D~rect0r,..Frolik explained .that the City received an application from <br />Don Volner for a conditional use"'permit to exceed the accessory building size restrictions' <br />established in City Code on the proper~y,located at 812-1 154tn Ave. NW. The subject property is <br />approximately 0.86 acres (37,464 squar~-.,.f6et) in size and is iocated outside the Metropolitan <br />Urban Service Area (MUSA). Under City Code, parcels between 14,880 sq. ft. and 43,559 sq. ft. <br />can have up to 1,488 square feet of accessorg, bmldmg space. The proposed building will be <br />1,820 square feet (28' x 65') in size. Coupled witl3 the existing garage (484 sq. ft.) and shed (192 <br />sq. ft.), the applicant would have 2,496 sq. ft. in aC~¢ssory building space. However, Mr. Volner <br />has stated that the existing shed would be removed &d that the existing attached garage, will be <br />converted into living space prior to the final inspection~'of the proposed accessory structure. The' <br />net resutt will be an overage of 332 square feet. Mr. Volr/e,,r has also agreed to submit a surety, in <br />the amount of $2,000, to ensure that this work will transpire prior to the completion of the <br />proposed structure. The City woald not issue a building perfiait for this structure until ~he surety <br /> \ . <br />has been submitted. The Planning Commission conducted a,,.pubhc hearing on November 6, <br />200_,, and there were no verbal comments regarding this requ,est. However, there was one <br />written comment submitted from an anonymous source concerning the possibility of a machine <br />shop being operated in the accessory structure.
