Page 2
Public Hearing
Council 8-21-78

Steve Schmidt recalled the ordinance had been made under certain considerations
and was open for change. He had investigated the uses of a dentists office in
regard to water and sewer problems. He found there would have been nothing
special,

Art Braun asked how this proposed rezoning for a dental clinic would fit with the
Cities Comprehensive Plan before the Metropolitan Council and if their approval
or disapproval would aid in changing the Council's minds.

Mayor Cox stated the Metropolitan Council has not approved of the Cities Compre-
hensive Plan that has been filed with them.

Jerry Rachel questioned the rezoning request of a plan adopted less than a year
ago~ Mayor Cox told him it'was a request of a citizen not the Planning and Zoning
Commission or Council that was requesting this change and that is the purpose of
this public hearing.

Art Braun asked what type of a vote is needed by Council to pass the request. He
was told a 4/5 vote by Council was required.

Bob Muller asked Dr. Anderson his plans for future development. Dr. Anderson
stated he hoped to have a residential area in back and eventually connect with
White Pines Estates. He said the Highway Department was quire favorable in his
plan to extend 167th Avenue.

He also said he is just asking for a limited type of commercial zoning and maybe
a contract with the City to keep it on that basis.

Jerry Green asked Dr. Anderson if he were planning more than one for Ramsey.
Dr. Anderson replied no. He was also asked if he had acquired more property in
Ramsey. He had been negotiating on some but nothing was finalized.

Art Braun said he'wanted him to Consider the option of 5 acres next to the
medical clinic. Dr. Anderson stated they had considered joining services with
the Coon Rapids Clinic for Ramsey but that the terms of the medical clinic
were too far out of line. They dropped that idea.

Motion was made by Gary Reimann to adjourn the public hearing. Tom Ga/nec
seconded the motion.

4 ayes
Motion carried

Meeting adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
