Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Varioiite St.: Discussion on this road, a bridge, possible wild <br />life area, ie~ beaver dam, making a lake and swimming beach on <br />#83, possibly thru. some type of funding. We will send a letter <br />to our Park Department regarding making a lake and wild life sanc- <br />tuary west of Variolite St.. Discussion on oiling Variolite St., <br />possibly getting a bid on this work. <br /> <br />Fred Van Krevelen: He has information from the State Building <br />Inspector. He sa{d he was representing a group of citizens. They <br />would like to have the Baptist Church on Hematite not move in there. <br />They considered it not the right place for a church. They want <br />everything right, the building safe, which he says it is not now. <br />They want to see any use permit for this building denied or at <br />least upgraded to the minimum-specifications. If it:~s there, it <br />should come up to safe standards. He said the Building Inspector <br />should have been out there. Mr. Cox thinks the Council should <br />recommend the Building Inspector check over this building to see <br />that it meets state requirements. Mr. Goodrich recommended our <br />Building Inspector get together wi'th'the State Building Inspector. <br />Mr. Van Krevelen wants the work done and when it meets standards <br />they can go back into their business again. Mr. Goodrich suggested <br />we follow the requirements of the State Building Code. Mr. Steffen <br />said we are talking about two different problems. Mr. Steffen <br />feels the Council i.s going to need a little patience from.the <br />neighborhood in this matter. A lady present_in.~he'audience said <br />there were traffic problems.'- They also feel thiS~hurch was put <br />in there Without letting_the neighborhood know.about it. There <br />were 82'signers, said Mr~ Kreveten, on-th'e~oetition. He alsO said' <br />there is no way this building can b~ brought un tb the State Code. <br />I~o formal action taken by the Council. <br /> <br />Peltzer Addition: Mrs. Oliphant moved we release the road 9ond <br />on the Peltzer Addition according to letter from Mr. Fricke. <br />Seconded by I4r. Gotham. i~otion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Liquor Ordinance: This was reviewed by the Council and discussed <br />~ith Mr. John Dahl of the Strawhouse regarding the license fee. <br />Mr. Gorham moved we adopt Liquor Ordinance'75-7 An Ordinance <br />Licensing and Regulating the Use and Sale of Intoxicating Liquor <br />with the changes as set forth by the meeting and subject to proper <br />form an~ legality as determined by the City Attorney. Seconded by <br />Mr. Mickelson.
