For the most parr, Minnesota land use law' governs <br />home rule charter cities just as it does statutory cities, in the metropolitan <br />area, both the Municipal Planning Act and the Metropolitan Land Planning <br />,Act apply to home rule charter cities. <br /> <br />The Municipal Planning Act and the Metropolitan Land Planning Act occupy <br />the field of the process bF.' which municipal land use laws are finally <br />approved or disapproved, and pre-empt the power of referendum reserved in <br />a city's home rule charter. <br /> <br />Some charters contain provisions:for the acquisition and disposition of real <br />property.
