Absent: Chairperson Nixt and Commissioner Van <br />Scoy. <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Public Hearing - Request for an Interim Use Permit to Allow for Outside <br />Storage in the E-2 Employment District; Case of Bruce Volk <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Johnson closed the regular pollion of the Planning Co~mnission meeting at <br />7:20 p.m. in order to call the public hearing to order. <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Johnson called the public hearing to order at 7:20 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Principal Plam~er Trudgeon stated Bruce Volk of B & A Cylinder has submitted an application <br />for an tnterirn Use Pen-nit to allow ~br outdoor storage of Recreational Vehicles (RV) as a <br />secondm.'y principal use on the property located at 14165 Ramsey Blvd. <br /> <br />Mr. Volk's property is approximately 4.5 acres in size and is zoned E-2 Employment. Mr. Votk <br />is operating a manufacturing facility as the principal use on the subject property. The applicant <br />also received an interim use penmt on November 25, 200_3 to store RV's on the property as a <br />secondao, principal use until August 1, 2004. <br /> <br />The interim use permit has expired and therefore Mr. Volk submitted another interim use permit <br />application requesting to store RV's on the subject property from December 1, 2004 through <br />August 1, 2005. <br /> <br />Attached to this case is a copy of the City Council minutes frolTl November 25, 2004, discussing <br />Mr. Votk's original interim use permit request. The City Council stated some hesitance in <br />penmtting intensive outside storage uses iwanediately SmTounding the Town Center area beyond <br />2004 due to the continued progression of the Ramsey Town Center. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission should make a recommendation to the City Council based on the <br />request by the Applicant and discussion that occm-red by the Planning Co~m~nission and City <br />Council during review of the 2003 interim use penmt request. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />Ms. Vicki Volk, 14165 Ramsey Boulevard stated the permit should be from November 1, 2004 <br />to August 1, 2005. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Jeffrey, seconded by Commissioner Shepherd, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />P12 <br /> <br />Planning Commission/October 7, 2004 <br /> Page 4 of 16 <br /> <br /> <br />
