Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION #04-11- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTIOB' IDENTIFYING FINDINGS, APPROVING A COMPRHENSIVE PLAN <br />AMENDMENT TO CHANGE THE LAND USE DESIGNATION OF OUTLOT C, TOWN <br />CENTER GARDENS AND OUTLOT B, TOWN CENTER GARDENS 2~) ADDITION, <br />FROM MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO MIXED USE, AND AUTHORIZING CITY <br />STAFF TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR AN <br />AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on October 19, 2004, the City of Ramsey received a request from Brightkeys, <br />[nc. for an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan to change the future land use designation of the <br />following legally described property from Medium Density Residential to Mixed Use: <br /> <br />(The Subject Property) <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, the ComprehensiOe Plan approved in 2001 identifies the designated land <br />use of the Subject Property as Medium Density Residential; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the property owner is requesting that the designated land use 'for the Subject <br />Property be changed to Mixed Use in the Comprehensive Plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the adjacent land uses to the west and south are designa[ed as Mixed Use and <br />Low and Medium Residential Density, Places to Work to the east, and Low Density Residential to <br />the north; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the adjacency of the Subject Property. to the Town Center development creates a <br />need to complement the design of the Town Center; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission met on Novgmber 4, 2004, conducted a <br />public hearing, and recommended that the Ramsey City Council approve the request ~br an <br />amendment to the Comprehensive PIan. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />tL4MSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves the request for a land use designation change of <br /> the Subject Property fi'om Medium Density Residential to Mixed Use. <br /> <br />2) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes City Staff to submit the necessary <br /> documentation to Metropolitan Council for an amendment to the 2001 Comprehensive Plan to <br /> change the land use designation to Mixed Use. <br /> <br />3) That this [anti use change in the 200t Comprehensive Plan shall become effective concurrent with <br /> [he City's receipt o~' notification of approval from Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br />43 <br /> <br /> <br />
