This will allow the awarded Metro Municipal Agreement Program funds to be applied to the <br />improvements. The Cooperative Agreement must be executed before a Contract for construction can be awarded by <br />the City. <br />On July 25, 2017, Staff anticipates requesting Council to accept bids and award a Contract for construction of <br />Improvement Project #16-20. Construction could then begin in early to mid -August, allowing substantial project <br />completion by mid -October. <br />Notification: <br />Notifications are not required for this case. Bids are proposed to be advertised on Friday, June 30th, and Friday, <br />July 7th. <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />Observations: <br />Attached are draft plans and specifications for Improvement Project #16-20, which did not yet have final MnDOT <br />approval at the time this case was prepared. However, based on a meeting held with MnDOT on June 21, MnDOT <br />will approve plans and specifications before the first advertisement runs on June 30th. <br />Alternatives: <br />Alternative # 1 - Adopt Resolution # 17-06-151 approving plans and specifications and authorizing advertisements <br />for bids for Improvement Project #16-20, Riverdale Drive Extension from Traprock Street to Ramsey Boulevard. <br />Alternative #2 - Deny adoption of Resolution #17-06-151 at this time. <br />Funding Source: <br />The engineer's estimate for construction costs is $1,082,192.50.
