provide and to enable Engineer to review the information for the limited <br />purposes required by Paragraph 7.16.D. <br />2. Samples: <br />a. Contractor shall submit the number of Samples required in the Specifications. <br />b. Contractor shall clearly identify each Sample as to material, Supplier, pertinent <br />data such as catalog numbers, the use for which intended and other data as <br />Engineer may require to enable Engineer to review the submittal for the limited <br />purposes required by Paragraph 7.16.D. <br />3. Where a Shop Drawing or Sample is required by the Contract Documents or the <br />Schedule of Submittals, any related Work performed prior to Engineer's review and <br />approval of the pertinent submittal will be at the sole expense and responsibility of <br />Contractor. <br />C. Other Submittals: Contractor shall submit other submittals to Engineer in accordance with <br />the accepted Schedule of Submittals, and pursuant to the applicable terms of the <br />Specifications. <br />D. Engineer's Review: <br />1. Engineer will provide timely review of Shop Drawings and Samples in accordance with <br />the Schedule of Submittals acceptable to Engineer. Engineer's review and approval will <br />be only to determine if the items covered by the submittals will, after installation or <br />incorporation in the Work, conform to the information given in the Contract <br />Documents and be compatible with the design concept of the completed Project as a <br />functioning whole as indicated by the Contract Documents. <br />2. Engineer's review and approval will not extend to means, methods, techniques, <br />sequences, or procedures of construction or to safety precautions or programs <br />incident thereto. <br />3. Engineer's review and approval of a separate item as such will not indicate approval of <br />the assembly in which the item functions. <br />4. Engineer's review and approval of a Shop Drawing or Sample shall not relieve <br />Contractor from responsibility for any variation from the requirements of the Contract <br />Documents unless Contractor has complied with the requirements of Paragraph <br />7.16.A.3 and Engineer has given written approval of each such variation by specific <br />written notation thereof incorporated in or accompanying the Shop Drawing or <br />Sample. Engineer will document any such approved variation from the requirements <br />of the Contract Documents in a Field Order. <br />5. Engineer's review and approval of a Shop Drawing or Sample shall not relieve <br />Contractor from responsibility for complying with the requirements of Paragraph <br />7.16.A and B. <br />6. Engineer's review and approval of a Shop Drawing or Sample, or of a variation from <br />the requirements of the Contract Documents, shall not, under any circumstances, <br />change the Contract Times or Contract Price, unless such changes are included in a <br />Change Order. <br />7.
