<br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Riley introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #17-06-147 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #17-03, 2017 RACKSEAL AND SEALCOAT <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS <br />, the City of Ramsey adopted a budget for 2017 including $500,000 to <br />crackseal and sealcoat various public streets as part of the City’s annual Street Maintenance <br />Program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />the City Engineer prepared plans and specifications for the purpose of <br />advertising for bids for the same improvements; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />pursuant to Ramsey City Council resolution #17-05-118, adopted May 23, <br />2017, the City Council accepted final plans and specifications and authorized advertisements for <br />bids for said improvements; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />bids were received, opened, and tabulated on June 21, 2017, and the <br />following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids; and <br /> <br /> TOTAL BID <br />CONTRACTOR (BASE BID + 4 <br />ALT. BIDS) <br />Allied Blacktop Company $358,217.14 <br />Pearson Brothers, Inc. $361,037.13 <br />Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp. $438,525.45 <br />Engineer’s Estimate $443,836.70 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />the bid of Allied Blacktop Company of Maple Grove, Minnesota, in the <br />amount of $358,217.14 for the base bid plus 4 alternates in accordance with the approved plans <br />and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and their bid shall <br />be and hereby is accepted. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of <br />the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />2) The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all <br />bidders the deposits made with their bids at such time that a contract has been executed. <br /> <br />
