However. the developer will <br />nt, s~unificant deviauons from the preliminary plat approved in '" ~ <br />h(, r('ot~ire(t to establish subdivision escrcm, account:, with thz City to cover iht'~,~s,:"~, '~ ~"-"-""'~, .......... :~' <br />urocessmg final plat approval of Flintwood Hills 5th Addition P.U.D. and all othe? remaining <br />ur~plaucct property within the Flintwood Hills 2nd Addition P.U.D. <br /> <br />Ch:unu:m Zimmerman recessed the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting at 9:11 p.m. <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman cMled the meeting back to order at 9:22 p.m. <br /> <br />Case 84: <br /> <br />Accessory Structure Height Limit Increase (Proposed Amendment to <br />Ramsey City Code Chapter 9.10, Section 9.11.02 Subd. 5) <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to direct the City <br />Attorney to draft an ordinance for the Planning and Zoning Commission's review to amend the <br />City Code to increase accessory structure height limits to 22 feet for property zoned Rural <br />Residential, retain the 16 foot height limit on property zoned urban residential, prohibit knee walls <br />and cripple walls for accessory structures, and permit the use of dormers which do not exceed for <br />one third of the bearing wall length. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Commissioner Thorud inquired if a silo is considered an accessory structure. <br />Ms. Frolik stated that for lack of another ordinance, the 16 feet is referred to and added that an <br />ordinance is needed for antennae's, towers, etc. Commissioner Thorud asked where the farms in <br />the Rural Residential area fall. Chairman Zimmerman stated there are no real active farms in <br />Ramsey and that agricultural does not follow residential rules. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners LaDue, Deemer, Terry and <br />Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Bawden and Hendriksen. <br /> <br />Case #5: Recommendation of Economic Development Commission to Amend <br /> the Zoning District Boundaries to Accommodate Light Industrial <br /> Activity <br /> <br />Chairman Zimmerman introduced Mr. Ken Wagner of the Ramsey Economic Development <br />Committee. <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik explained that the area of the McKinley Street Extension consists of <br />property zoned Industrial by both Anoka and Ramsey. She added that there is concern that the <br />cieve]opment activity that ta~es place in Ramsev is compatible with Anoka's development, ~, <br /> D~,,ns for <br />that same area. 5he stated that the Economic Development Commission has researched th~s issue <br /> .~o~enmn~ that the City of R~sev estabiish a Light indusma! Dismct.
