Acting Mayor Backous asked whether the Council supported making that revision. He stated he
served on the LRRWMO Board for a little over a year and can vouch for the fact that Board
Members are community minded and Ramsey benefits more because it has more land within this
watershed basin. He stated during the time he served, more projects within Ramsey were
considered than the other member cities. However, his concern related to potential projects with
the Anoka dam. Acting Mayor Backous stated the City of Andover will probably have the same
position as Ramsey about any project involving the Anoka dam so most of his concerns have
been resolved. He stated he supports the recommendation of Councilmember Kuzma.
Councilmember Riley agreed that the City of Andover would have the same position as Ramsey
so he would not push for the wording revision.
Councilmember Johns concurred.
Acting Mayor Backous stated Ramsey has made its point.
The consensus of the Council was to support execution of the LRRWMO JPA pending
recommendation of City Attorney Langel relating to the wording on Page 10 indicating, "the
Board may consider"rather than"the Board shall consider."
2.02: Review & Amend Preliminary Resident Survey
This item was addressed prior to Case 2.01.
3.
