Councilmember Kuzma introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #17-07-172 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A MODIFIED COMPRHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT, <br />CONTINGENT UPON METROPOLITAN COUNCIL APPROVAL, TO CHANGE A LAND <br />USE DESIGNATION FOR RIVERSTONE ADDITION <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey (the "City") has initiated an amendment to the Comprehensive <br />Plan to change the future land use designation from Commercial to Medium Density Residential on a <br />9.23-acre portion of the 87 acre subdivision known as Riverstone Addition: <br />The Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 20, Township 32, Range 25, lying <br />west of east 40 feet thereof, except road subject of easement of record, Anoka County, Minnesota. <br />-and- <br />That part of Northwest Quarter of Northwest Quarter of Section 29, Township 32, Range 25 <br />lying northeasterly of northeasterly right of way line of Burlington Northern rail Road and lying <br />westerly and southerly of the north 60 feet of east 40 feet of said Quarter Quarter, except road <br />subject to easement of record, Anoka County, Minnesota. <br />(the "Subject Property") <br />WHEREAS, the City has approved a Preliminary Plat, contingent upon final approval of the <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission met on February 2, 2017, conducted a public <br />hearing, and considered the Applicant's request for a Comprehensive Plan Amendment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council originally approved the Amendment on February 14, <br />2017; and <br />WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan Amendment was originally combined with a separate <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment that the City now wants to separate for clarity, timeframe, and <br />applicable policies. The adjustment to the amendment does not materially change the original intent. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves the request for a land use designation change as <br />follows. <br />Land Use Category <br />Pre -Amendment Acres <br />Post -Amendment Acres <br />Medium Density Residential <br />68.94 acres <br />78.17 acres <br />High Density Residential <br />9.6 acres <br />9.6 acres <br />Commercial <br />9.23 acres <br />0 acres <br />
