<br />Councilmember LeTourneau introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #17-07-165 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO ENTER INTO A THREE (3) YEAR CURBSIDE RECYCLING <br />CONTRACT WITH ACE SOLID WASTE INC. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City currently has a contract with ACE Solid Waste, Inc. for the curbside <br />collection of residential recyclables that is set to terminate at the end of 2017; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> in June of 2016, the Environmental Policy Board (EPB) developed goals for <br />the City’s recycling program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> in July of 2016, the EPB recommended that the City continue to provide <br />recycling through a contracted service and that the City negotiate a new contract with ACE Solid <br />Waste, Inc. for this service; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS <br /> , in September of 2016, the City Council supported the EPB’s <br />recommendation and directed City Staff to negotiate a new curbside recycling contract with ACE <br />Solid Waste, Inc. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />1)That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized execute a new three (3) year <br />contract for curbside recycling services with ACE Solid Waste, Inc. for 2018-2020. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Johns, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Strommen <br /> Councilmember LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Johns <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Shryock <br /> Councilmember Williams <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br /> <br />
