Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #17-06-143 <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE PARTICIPATION IN THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES <br />RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION PHASED RETIREMENT OPTION <br />WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to offer employment arrangements in the best <br />interest of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) offers a Phased <br />Retirement Option (PRO) that allows for a workforce planning tool and to ease employees into <br />retirement; and <br />WHEREAS, on a case -by -case basis, upon receipt of an eligible employee's request to <br />participate the PRO, the City Administrator will determine if the PRO is within the approved <br />budget and beneficial in meeting the City's goals; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Administrator will either approve or deny the request; and <br />WHEREAS, if the request is approved the employee will begin Phased Retirement which <br />will be re-evaluated every twelve months for up to a maximum of five years. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) Motion to adopt resolution #17-06-143 to approve participation in the Public Employees <br />Retirement Association Phased Retirement Option <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />
