Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #17-07-181 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #17-04, SUNWOOD DRIVE STRIPING IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, Sunwood Drive between Armstrong Boulevard/CSAH 83 and Ramsey Boulevard/CSAH56 within the City's COR development area was constructed in 2006; and WHEREAS, the existing pavement striping on this segment of Sunwood Drive is in poor condition and must be replaced to safely direct pedestrian and vehicle traffic; and WHEREAS, the existing pavement striping includes significant center two-way turn lane striping since much of the corridor was undeveloped when Sunwood Drive was constructed and striped; and WHEREAS, all center two-way turn lane striping is proposed to be replaced with dedicated left turn lane striping to better direct vehicles turning onto existing streets and into private accesses; and WHEREAS, dedicated right turn lane striping is proposed to be added at several intersections to reduce delay and congestion due to right turning traffic, and to increase safety for pedestrians; and WHEREAS, City staff prepared plans and specifications for pavement striping improvements along Sunwood Drive in 2017; and WHEREAS, Bids were received, opened, tabulated and checked for errors and omissions on July 21, 2017, and the following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids; and CONTRACTOR TOTAL BID AAA Striping $11,836.25 Century Fence $20,160.95 Warning Lites $41,160.33 Engineer's Estimate $17,131.30 WHEREAS, the bid of AAA Striping of St. Michael, MN, in the amount of $11,836.25 for construction of said improvements is the lowest bid and their bid shall be and hereby is accepted. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a Resolution #17-07-181 Page 1 of 1
