Absent: Chairperson Bauer. <br /> <br />5.02: Public Hearing: Consider a request for Preliminary Plat and Site Plan for Jaspar <br />Industrial park (Project #16-69); Case of Sharp Associates, LLC <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br /> <br />Vice Chair VanScoy called the public hearing to order at 7:07 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br /> <br />Planning Intern Moss presented the staff report stating the City has received an application for <br />Preliminary Plat and Site Plan for Jaspar Business Park. The Applicant is proposing a 52,000- <br />square foot multi-tenant building for small or startup businesses in manufacturing and services. <br />The project is proposed on the southeast corner of 143rd Avenue and Jaspar Street and east of the <br />current public works facility. The Developer, Sharp & Associates, has proposed a three-lot <br />subdivision with one buildable lot for the proposed building and two outlots (one of which is <br />potentially to site the future public works facility). Staff recommend approval of the preliminary <br />plat and site plan, contingent on revisions outlined in the Staff Review Letter. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br /> <br />Dan Sharp, Sharp & Associates, commented on the multi-tenant building he was proposing to <br />construct for startup businesses. He explained there was a demand for this type of use. He <br />anticipated the users would be machine shops, contractors or small manufacturing businesses. <br />He indicated the tenant sites would range in size based on the needs of the business. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brauer stated he was pleased to see a small business incubator location coming to <br />the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Commissioner Nosan agreed stating this was a nice concept. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Surma, seconded by Commissioner Nosan, to close the public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried.
