Councilmember Kuzma introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #17-06-134 RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING BY THE CITY COUNCIL REGARDING A PROPOSED BUSINESS SUBSIDY TO BE GRANTED TO PSD, LLC WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council shall meet on July 25, 2017, at approximately 7:00 .., to hold a public hearing on the proposed granting of a business subsidy, pursuant to and in accordance PM with Minnesota Statutes, Sections 116J.993 to 116J.995, inclusive, as amended. The proposed subsidy involves the construction of an approximately 58,000 square foot industrial building in the City of Ramsey and will result in an increase in the tax base of the City. The creation or retention of jobs is not a goal of the subsidy; and WHEREAS, City staff is authorized and directed to work with Ehlers & Associates, Inc., to cause notice of the hearing to be published at least once in the official newspaper of the City not later than 10, nor more than 30, days prior to July 25, 2017, and to place a copy of the business subsidy agreement on file in the City Administrator's office at City Hall and to make such copy available for inspection by the public. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1)That the Ramsey City Council hereby calls for a public hearing to be scheduled for Tuesday, July 25, 2017, regarding a proposed business subsidy for PSD, LLC. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Johns, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Strommen Councilmember Kuzma Councilmember Johns Councilmember Riley Councilmember Shryock and the following voted against the same: None and the following abstained: None and the following were absent: Councilmember LeTourneau Councilmember Williams
