City of Ramsey Highlighted in Metro Transit Newsletter. The City of Ramsey was recently
highlighted in a brochure prepared by the Metro Transit TOD Office highlighting the ongoing
planning and implementation around the Northstar Commuter Rail — Ramsey Station. Attached
to this Weekly Update is a Copy of the Metro Transit Newsletter — City of Ramsey Highlight.
Old/New Business Reopening. The Penalty Box, located at 14077 St. Francis Boulevard NW,
has been closed since July 1, 2017. On August 8, City Council conducted a public hearing and
granted a new on -sale liquor license to a new partnership located at that establishment. The new
partners have been busy cleaning, painting, hiring some new staff, working on a new menu, and
changing the decor to a community theme, and creating a new atmosphere. Their plan is to have
a soft opening on Tuesday, September 6. However, if there are any issues getting the menu created
in time, the opening may be delayed by a day or two.
It should be noted that The Penalty Box will also have a new name: River's Bend Sports Bar and
Grill. The paperwork for the name change has been completed at the State level and should come
through the City level within this next month. I believe they will have some type of banner over
their current sign for their opening next week that bears the new name.
