NTIry <br />NORTHERN <br />TECHNOLOGIES, LLC www.NTlgeo.com <br />November 23, 2016 <br />G160 Carmen Avenue East <br />Inver Grove Heights, MN 55976 <br />P: 651.389.4191 F: 651.3 B 9.4190 <br />City of Ramsey <br />Attention: Mr. Bruce Westby, P.E. <br />7550 Sunwood Drive NW <br />Ramsey, Minnesota 55303 <br />Subject: Geotechnical Exploration and Engineering Review <br />Sunwood Drive — Street Improvements <br />Ramsey, Minnesota <br />NTI Project No. 16.61770.100 <br />Unearthing confidence <br />Northern Technologies, LLC (NTI) has completed a total of eleven (11) borings for the Sunwood Drive <br />project area in the City of Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />The scope of services included determining existing bituminous and aggregate base thicknesses, and <br />subsurface conditions, and providing recommendations for site preparation, excavations, engineered fill <br />and compaction, depths of unsuitable soils to be removed, groundwater management, potential <br />difficulties during construction, utility installation, and pavement design. <br />Our services were performed in accordance with our proposal dated October 25, 2016. <br />PROJECT AND SITE DESCRIPTION <br />The project includes street and possibly utility improvements to a section of Sunwood Drive between <br />Ramsey Boulevard and Bunker Lake Boulevard in Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />The pavement sections are proposed to be designed using the average annual daily traffic (AADT) <br />information and based on a 20-year design pavement life. The AADT information noted on the Mn/DOT <br />Traffic Data webpage indicates an AADT of 3500 for the project section of Sunwood Drive.
