To work together to reiposibty grow our community, and to provide quality, coat -effective, and efficient government ierrlcas. <br />CC Regular Session 7. 1. <br />Meeting Date: 09/12/2017 <br />By: Tim Gladhill, Community Development <br />Information <br />Title: <br />Adopt Resolution # 17-08-207 Approving Contract with the University of Minnesota for the Resilient Communities <br />Proj ect <br />Purpose/Background: <br />On February 14, 2017, the City Council approved an Application to the University of Minnesota's Resilient <br />Communities Project (RCP). Subsequently, the City of Ramsey was chosen as the Community Partner for RCP for <br />the 2017-2018 Academic Year. <br />The purpose of this case is to approve the final contract. This contract sets the expectations for the program. The <br />benefit to the City of entering into this contract is to ensure the City receives the quality product is expects when it <br />applied to the program, a step that was previously approved. <br />Notification: <br />Notification is not required. <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />See attached materials for detailed description of the program. <br />Funding Source: <br />The total cost of participation is $80,000, divided into two (2) payments of $40,000 (one payment in fiscal year <br />2017, one payment in fiscal year 2018). This represents one full academic year. Investment in this program will <br />help advance approximately twenty (20) City policy initiatives over a nine (9) month period. This investment is to <br />supplement the work of City Staff, and is a cost-effective use of resources to balance the workload and talents of <br />City Staff. <br />The funding source is the Planning Division Professional Services Account. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends approval of the attached contract. <br />Action: <br />Motion to adopt Resolution # 17-08-207 approving the final contract with the University of Minnesota for <br />participation in the Resilient Communities Project. <br />Attachments <br />
