Since then, the City's housing goals have had great <br />successes, especially in terms of workforce housing and senior housing. Unfortunately, public support for <br />many of our housing goals continues to drop. The City desires to update its housing plan, as well as a <br />communication strategy about the needs for various housing types and the value they add to our <br />community, especially in terms of economic development. <br />Policy Analysis <br />• What styles of housing are underrepresented and would add value to the community? <br />• What land use strategies exist to encourage our housing goal? <br />• What financial tools and strategies exist to encourage our housing goals? <br />Implementation Plan and Action Steps <br />The deliverables from this project will help in the completion of a Housing Plan that meets the minimum <br />requirements of the Metropolitan Council Regional Framework. The data will also be used to update the <br />City's Housing Assistance Policy to re -prioritize housing goals and identify the tools that are acceptable to <br />our community to advance these goals. <br />Sustainability and Resiliency Impacts <br />• Safe and Thriving Neighborhoods. A key initiative of our Strategic Plan is the continued focus on <br />safe and thriving neighborhoods. Our Comprehensive Plan lays out a goal to create a housing <br />inventory that provides an option for all of our residents throughout the spectrum of their housing <br />needs without ever leaving Ramsey. Contained within this initiative are tactics to increase housing <br />density, redevelop underutilized land, and engage underserved populations. A recent successful <br />endeavor was to connect people and resources in the Oak Terrace Estates manufactured home <br />community. <br />• Lifecycle Housing and Walkability. One housing option identified by our community, but <br />underrepresented in our housing stock is options for our aging community without needing to <br />It is our mission to work together to responsibly grow our community, and to provide quality, cost-effective and efficient government services. <br />
