Other Charges: Increases: <br />*Bi-Annual Survey: $16,000 <br />*Memberships: $11,000 <br />*Professional Services Building/Engineering: $46,000 <br />Capital Equipment: Increase of $408,000 (Funded by Equipment Fund) <br />*Replace 2 Squad Cars <br />*28 Self -Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA's) <br />*Replace Grass Fire Truck <br />*Programmable Message Board <br />*Replace Plow Truck <br />*Replace 2-3/4 Ton Trucks in Streets & Parks <br />*Replace 2 ATV's in Streets & Parks <br />*New 1-ton turck with plow <br />The revenue sources are made up of: Taxes: 78% (78%-2017); Permits: 4% (5%-2017); <br />Intergovernmental: 3% (3%-2017); Charges for Services: 6% (5%-2017); Fines/Interest <br />Earnings: 1% (2%-2017); and Transfer from other Funds: 8% (7%-2017). <br />In total, Public Safety [police, fire, inspections, civil defense] is now 42% (43%-2017) of the <br />budget. General Government [administration, finance, elections, planning and legal] is 28.0% <br />(28%-2017) of the budget. Public Works and Parks represent 29% (27%-2017) and <br />miscellaneous and transfers make-up 1% (2%-2017) of the budget. <br />The 2018 "Proposed" General Fund Budget must be adopted by September 29, 2017 and <br />submitted to the County Auditor along with the certified proposed property tax levy. <br />Therefore, the 2018 Proposed Levy and "Proposed" General Fund Budget are presented for <br />adoption at tonight's Council meeting. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends adoption of the 2018 proposed General Fund Budget and 2018 Proposed EDA budget as was <br />presented to the City Council at its final preliminary budget work session of September 12, 2017, noting again, that <br />the budgets are subject to change up until final adoption December 12, 2017. <br />Action: <br />Motion to recommend City Council Adopt Resolution # 17-09-236 Adopting Proposed 2018 General Fund Budget <br />and <br />Adopt Resolution #17-09-237 Adopting Proposed 2018 EDA Budget <br />Attachments <br />2018 Proposed General Fund Budget <br />Resolution #17-09-236 Adopting Proposed 2018 General Fund Budget <br />2018 Proposed EDA Budget <br />
