CASE # 4

MISSISSIPPI RECREATION)~L DISTRICT
By: Mark Riverblood, Parks/Utilities Supervisor

Backgrmmd:

At the October regular Cotm'nission meeting, it was noted that it has been some time since the 17
different Recreational Districts were reviewed. It was determined that the Corm2ission would
analyze one or more o f the districts each month.

Observations:

This ~-eview and analysis would aot only likely to generate revisions and updates to the
Commission's Park and Trail Plan map - but may provide a framework for a Park's Master Plan.
This Parks Master Plan could literally connect the soon to be concluded trail plan, with the other
planning clocttments and processes in the City, most notably the Comprehensive Plan and the
Capital improvement Program.

The purpose of' this case is to introduce this exercise, and solicit comment on how the
intbrmation is presented and organized..

Commission Act/on:

Provide staff direction on the enclosed draft Mississippi Recreational District Analysis.

Reviewed by:
Parks/Utitities St, pe~wisgr
Assistant Director of Public Works
Civil Engineer [I

P&R: I 1/18/I)4

13
