DATE:
TO:

FROM:
RE:

June 18, 1996

Nfayor and City. Council
Park and Recreation Commission
Ryan Sclmroeder, City. Administrator
Steve Jankowsld, City. Engineer

Mark Boos, Parks/Utili~:ies Supervisor
Mississippi West Park

Attached is a paper produced by Universit7 of Mipmesota students last fall for Anoka County's
Mississippi West Park. The park, as you may be aware, is being considered for regional park
status. This document is being tbrwarded to you for informational purposes.

There may be some inaccuracies, i.e., flora & fauna identificationfcategorization & flash flooding
concerns; however, the report generally conforms to fact. It is my opinion that Ramsey would
benefit greatly by fur, are development of this park, especially if it included an arboretum. Please
let me kno~v if you require additional information.

/ccr
