This soil is found m areas primarily along the southern edge of the park mainland. This soil series has loamy sediments m the upper portion and is 'underlain with outwash sands. Permeability on this soil is moderately rapid and the available water capacity is high. Generally, the mtrogen content for this soil is hi~, while the phosphorus and potassium contents are medium. The Becker series is known to be occasionally flooded, which is its major limkat,ion for fi, rmre development. It is well suited to woodland uses, as an open space or a park, or for crops if minimum tillage is used. Severe limkarions exist for urban development uses (foundations, roads and streets, dwellings with basements, and septic tanks) mostly because of the likelihood of flooding. Camp sites are hsted as severe due to the floc<ting potential, but picnic sites, playgrounds, and paths and trails have moderate limitations. Moderate Limitations can be overcome if special planning, desi~ or maintenance is used in the area. Cut and Fill Area This area found east Sfthe current park entrance at Traprock Street is nearly level to gently sloping (0-2% and 2-6% slopes') and is excessively drained with rapid permeability.
