Councihnember Elvig noted there was a question during the Committee meeting if the contractor <br />has agreed with the reduced amount. He inquired if this has been confirmed. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson respOnded in the affirmative. <br /> <br />Councilmcm. ber Elvig commended staff on the good project management and cost savings. <br /> <br />Counci hnember Cook commented the $41,000 in savings goes back into the Park and Trail Fund, <br />which could be used if needed to complete the Highway 47 trail. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Public Works Committee for Case 3 and approve the request for Change <br />Order #1 for Elmcrest Park Improvements. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Cook, Kurak, Pearson, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberZimmerman. <br /> <br />4) Consider Application for Obtaining Tax Forfeit Properties <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson explained this case identifies six different properties that <br />have gone tax forfeit. The recommendation was that the City make application of the tax forfeit <br />lands for public use of drainage and utility purposes and open space, and that staff forward the <br />information to the Park Board. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Public Works Committee for Case 4 and that the City make application <br />of the tax forfeit lands for public use of drainage and utility purposes and open space and direct <br />staff to forward the information to the Park Board. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Cook, Kurak, Pearson, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberZimmerman. <br /> <br />5) <br /> <br />Receive Petition Requesting an All Way Stop at the Intersection of Radium - <br />Street and 144th Lane <br /> <br />Councihncmber Elvig indicated there was no action necessary on this item. Staff will complete <br />traffic counts and report back to the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />6) Update on 169t~' Avenue and Neon Street <br /> <br />Councilmcmber Elvig explained the speed trailer was placed at the intersection of 169th Avenue <br />and Neon Street as part of the measures to alleviate a problem with vehicles sliding off the <br />roadway. The report prepared by the computer capabilities of the trailer software indicates the <br />maximum travel speed of 87 percent of the motorists is 33 miles per hour or lower.
