1. Construction activities which have potential for generation of dust shall be restricted to avoid nuisance. <br />2. Controls shall be provided to confine dust and dirt within immediate area of demolition. <br />3. Masonry and debris shall be thoroughly soaked with water during demolition and loading operations, if <br />necessary to control dust. <br />4. Water is available from the fire hydrant located on the site and may be purchased from the City of <br />Ramsey. The Contractor must supply his own water meter with backflow preventer to the satisfaction of <br />the Owner. Fees for water usage shall be paid separately by Contractor to the City of Ramsey in <br />accordance with the City's 2016 Fee schedule. <br />C. NOISE CONTROL <br />1. Noise control measures shall be taken to limit amount of noise and prevent nuisance. <br />2. Construction activities generating significant noise shall be limited to normal working hours. <br />D. INSTALLATION OF INLET PROTECTION <br />1. Install prior to demolition activities. <br />2. Maintain as necessary for the duration of the project. <br />3. Remove upon final stabilization. All removed materials become the property of the contractor. <br />3.02 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT <br />A. Inlet protection will be measured by each inlet. <br />3.03 BASIS OF PAYMENT: <br />A. Control work performed for protection of all construction areas including areas such as borrow and waste <br />areas, haul roads, equipment and material storage sites, and temporary plant sites, will not be measured and <br />paid for directly but shall be considered as a subsidiary obligation of Contractor with costs included in contract <br />prices bid for items to which they apply. <br />B. INLET PROTECTION <br />1. The Owner will make payment on the basis of the following schedule: <br />a. Initial installation, 50 percent of payment, and <br />b. Maintenance and removal of the devices, 50 percent of payment. <br />END OF SECTION <br />Division 31— Earthwork <br />DV31-7 <br />
