Counci hnember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #04-06-155 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE (1) I,ASER UNIT; (1) DOPPLER RADAR; (1) LED LIGHT BAR; (1) M-16 RIFLE; (5) GLOCK HANDGUNS; AND (1) VACUUM CLEANER WHEREAS, Staff has shown the need to replace (2) Doppler radars with a Laser Unit and a new Doppler unit, available under State Contract from Kustom Signals, Inc. for a total of $5,670.99; and WHEREAS, Staff has shown the need to replace an existing light bar with an LED unit under State Contract from 911 EP for $2,400.00; and WHEREAS, Staff has show the need for an additional M-16 rifle at $1,600.00 and the addition of (5) standard issue Glock handguns at $2,500.00 for police duty use; and WHEREAS, Staff has shown the need to replace a vacuum cleaner at $425.00; and WHEREAS, it has been determined that the above requested items can be funded with existing money from the Equipment Replacement fund, not to exceed $11,216.44. The remaining $1,379.55 would come out of the Police Vehicle Capital account. Total purchases would be $12,595.99. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: l) That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the Police Department to purchase (1) Laser Ulfit; (1) Doppler Radar; (1) LED Light Bar; (1) M-16 Rifle; (5) Glock Handguns; and (1) Vacuum Cleaner for the total of $12,595.99 utilizing funds from the Equipment Rcplacement Fund not to exceed $11,216.44. The remaining $1,379.55 would come out of the Police Cehicle Capital and line item accounts.
