EDA BUSINESS Case #1 Nominate a Vice Chair/Treasurer The EDA unanimously voted Member Keith Kiefer to serve as the 2002 Vice Chair/Treasurer. Case #2 Induct a Business into the Business Hall of Fame The EDA reviewed the list of possible nominees and the previous list of inductees. After careful consideration and review of the criteria; the EDA felt that ACE Solid Waste Inc. demonstrated the most community involvement, new business venture, and a positive influence on the community. The EDA requested that staff add Amcon, Lowell Zitzlof, and Diamonds Sports Bar to the list of possible nominees for consideration in the year 2003. Motion by Chairperson Riley, seconded by Member Steffen to induct ACE Solid Waste into the 2002 Ramsey Business Hall of Fame. Motion carried: Voting Yes: Chairperson Riley, Members Steffen, Anderson, Zimmerman, LeTourneau, and Kiefer. Voting No: None Absent: Member Gromberg. Case #3: Consider the Creation of EDA Housing Subcommittee The EDA discussed what type of housing the City of Ramsey currently contains and stated the importance for the City to get ahead of housing pressures and problems. A majority of EDA members felt the City should address the issue of supplying a full life cycle housing stock in the City. Member Zimmerman inquired as to whether or not the City would be eligible to receive grants. The' EDA suggested a developer should participate on the committee in order to provide information regarding available housing, especially within the Anoka County area, and address the current housing demand. Members Anderson and Kiefer stated an interest to be the EDA liaison to the Housing Subcommittee. Motion by Member Kiefer, seconded by Member Anderson, to create a Housing Committee and directing staff to continue to advertise for interested Ramsey Residents to participate on the Housing Committee.
