110.071 <br /> <br />C~ 110.07 HORSES <br /> <br />HORSE DEFINEI) <br /> <br />As used in this chapter, horse shall mean any stallion, mare, gelding, foal, pony, <br />donkey, ass, burro, mule or animal of horse kind. <br /> <br />110.072 ACREAGE REQUntEMENq'S <br /> <br />The following chart prescribes the number of horses that can be <br />maintained on the lot sizes as shown: <br /> <br />M~xim~m Number of Horses <br /> <br />Acreage Minimum <br /> <br />Two <br />Four <br />Five or more <br /> <br />2.5 acres <br />2.6 acres <br />5 acres and larger of which at least <br />2.5 acres shall consist of an enclosed <br />area available for use in which <br />horses are able to ro~m~ <br /> <br />2. Horse(s) shall be provided adequate shelter. <br /> <br />Fences for pens, corrals or similar enclosures must be of sufficient <br />height and strength to retain such animals. Extra care must be <br />taken to insure that stallions are properly enclosed. <br /> <br />110.073 RODENT ANrD INSECT CONTROL <br /> <br />Manure shall be handled or treated in such a manner as not to create <br />a public nuisance which shall mean at a rn{nim!~rn that manure will <br />be properly disposed of weekly when the number of horses on any one <br />parcel exceeds one horse per 1/2 acre of enclosed roam{ng area. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Corrals, pens, stables or similar enclosures shall be maintained in a <br />manner to minimize fly breeding. <br /> <br />No person shall leave accnmulations of horse manure on any paved <br />portion of a street, sidewalk or alley. <br /> <br />110.074 <br /> <br /> 1. <br /> <br />CARE AiNrD MAI1N~IN~ OF HORSES <br /> <br />No horses shall be treated cruelly or inh,,rnanely by any person or in <br />xdolation of Minnesota Statutes 346.20 - 345.26 preventing cruelty to <br />animals. <br /> <br /> <br />
