CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, February 12, 2002, at the <br />Ramsey Fire Station Number II, 15050 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Principal Planner Patrick Trudgeon <br />City Engineer Brian Olson <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Police Chief David Gustafson <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. and called <br />upon Councihnember Kurak to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Sara Stroman, 14546 Krypton Street NW, Ramsey, stated that a citizen petition for an EAW was <br />submitted to the EQB and forwarded to the City of Ramsey and noted that State Statute 4410, <br />part 1100, subpart 9, indicates that the petition is still valid and in the recent discussions with <br />staff, staff also feels the petition is still valid. She explained that the EQB set forth a procedure <br />regarding an EAW and no final government approval can be made until the citizen's petition is <br />acted on. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted that the Council would discuss that issue further during the regular agenda. <br /> <br />Jan Pomeroy, 5430 - 155th Lane NW, Ramsey, stated that she had been made aware that the City <br />of Ramsey donates $28,000 to the Anoka Hennepin School District to support community <br />education, which she supports, but she has discovered that those funds have been going to Fred <br />Moore Middle School and presently there are only nine students from Ramsey that attend Fred <br />Moore and next year there will be 13 students. Sandburg Middle School has 150 students from <br />Ramsey, but Sandburg does not receive any funding from Ramsey.
