CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, February 26, 2002, at the <br />Ramsey Fire Station Number II, 15050 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br />Principal Planner Patrick Trudgeon <br />City Engineer Brian Olson <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Police Chief David Gustafson <br /> <br />CALLTO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. and led in the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATE FROM THE LEAGUE OF MINNESOTA CITIES <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec presented certificates to Councilmember Anderson and Councilmember Kurak for <br />the training courses they completed through the League of Minnesota Cities. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION ON 4TM OF JULY FUN FEST BY, GARY GRUBER, STEVE NASH, <br />AND FRANK FREDRICKS <br /> <br />Gary Gruber, Diamonds Sports Bar and Grill, stated that local business owners were working to <br />put together an event that would draw people to the City of Ramsey as well as raise funds for the <br />youth athletic associations in the area. He explained that they have created a non-profit <br />organization that would split the funds that are raised by the event to the different associations. <br />The event would include carnival rides, games, sports exhibition games, sports clinics, raffles, <br />local bands, chili tasting contest (sponsored by the Anoka Halloween Committee), and a fire <br />works display. He stated that they have been asked if they were trying to take away from the <br />City's Happy Days celebration, and his response to that was that they fully support the Happy <br /> <br />City Council/February 26, 2002 <br /> Page 2 of 35 <br /> <br /> <br />
