CITY OF RAMSEY PLANNING CO~.4ISSION PUBLIC HEARING
June 30, 1977
SUMMARY OF SOILS ORDINANCE
SIGNIFICANT MdENDb{ENTS

The ordinance, in effect, will determine the "buildability" of

a particular lot or parcel depending on that lot or parcel's soil
characteristic as it relates to acceptability for a sewage disposal

system. Soils have been put into five classes as mapped on the
'Anoka County S0il Survey, 1977. Each said class is then defined

which definition relates to that soil type's water table, permeability
and slope.

Finally, if it is determined that the lot or parcel of land in
question does not contain sufficient soil types for the adequate
operation of an on site sewage disposal system., the lot'or parcel in
question will not be allowed.to develop, and no building permits will
be issu6d. Al~o, these requirements will need to be met prior to any
land subdivision as well.
