Steffen <br />Administrative Consultant <br /> <br />Outline Proposal for Municipal <br />On-Site Septic System Inspection <br />and Maintenance Program <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />Objectives: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Develop a basic record of existing systems, location, <br />type, quality, etc. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />Identify deficient' existing systems and insure that they <br />are upgraded to a minimum standard. <br /> <br />c) <br /> <br />Develop a program of regular, inexpensive pumping and <br />inspection of individual systems to insure maximum length <br />of trouble-free service. <br /> <br />d) <br /> <br />To develop and conduct a systematic ground water monitor- <br />ing program which will detect any deterioration in <br />general water quality or specific on-site well water. <br /> <br />Program Outline: <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Examine available municipal records to inventory existing <br />systems as to type, location, quality, etc. <br /> <br />b) <br /> <br />Physically examine all systems on which records are not <br />available or are not complete to establish the necessary <br />inventory information. <br /> <br />c) <br /> <br />Inspect all systems that records or physical examination <br />indicate are or might be "deficient". <br /> <br />d) <br /> <br />Provide list of "approved" and "disapproved" systems <br />based on actions taken in a-c steps of program. <br /> <br /> <br />
