A 1976 update shows an BDT of 5,260, an in-
crease of 2,010 vehicles per day in two years. The current ADT
vmu].d have a peak hour volume of 526 vehicles per hour (vph) in
both directions.

Using the Highway. Capacity Manual, the TH 47 service volume for a
level of service C is approximately 700 vph. Level of service C
J.s the traffic condition where the average speed is greater than
40 miles per hour and the traffic movement is stable with little
interference. Level of service E is the capacity situation where
the traffic volume condition is unstable with intermittent traffic
stoppages and waiting lines (queues) at intersections° The average
speed is generally less than 30 miles per hour. The TH 47 capacity
under these conditions is approximately 890 vph/lane. County Road.5
would have a higher capacity than TH 47 because of the wider ~aved
shoulders.

An Equal Opportunity Employer
