CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 12/12/2017 <br />Submitted For: Jo Thieling, Administrative Services <br />By: Jo Thieling, Administrative Services <br />Information <br />Title <br />Adopt Resolution #17-12-314 Establishing Precinct and Polling Locations for 2018 Election Year <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Purpose: To establish polling locations for 2018. <br />4. 10. <br />Background: The language in State Statutes now requires both cities and school districts to pass a resolution prior <br />to December 31 st of each year setting polling places for the following year. This must be done even if there are no <br />changes in locations. Attached to this case is a memo from the Secretary of State's Office explaining the reasoning <br />for this action. Also attached is the resolution for adoption establishing the polling locations. Council should note <br />there are no changes to the City's polling places. <br />Notification: <br />None required. <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />Observations/Alternatives: It appears there are no alternatives - Council must adopt a resolution establishing polling <br />locations for the coming year.
