ORDINANCE #04 -45 CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 7 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE LICENSING AND PERMITS CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7.20 (BUSINESS REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE) OF THE CITY CODE. The City of Ramsey ordains: SECTION 1. REPEAL Section 7.20 (Business Registration Certificate), shall be repealed. SECTION 2. AMENDMENT Section 7.20 (Business Registration Certificate) shall be replaced with the following text: 7.20 Business Registration Certificate 7.20.01 General Provisions Subdivision 1. Purpose. The purpose of this Section is to establish a process roi' the City to obtain and maintain current information on all businesses located in the City. The obtained information will allow the City to be informed as to current occupancy and occupancy changes within buildings, permit the City to update and reviexv records regarding emergency contact lists, fire preplan, inspection, and hazardous materials. The information will permit the City to verify that any business intending to operate within the City shall comply with the State Building Code, the State Fire Code, and local City Code requirements. The City Police Department will be notified of any ha×ards or security issues that may affect the community's health, safety and welfare. Subd. 2. Definitions Thc following words and phrases, when used in this section, shall have the meanings given there in this section: Person - Means an individual, partnership, corporation, or any body of persons, whether incorporated or formed as an association or not. Business - Means an establishment, occupation, employment, or enterprise where merchandise is manufactured, exhibited or sold, or where services are offered for compensation.
