The Police Department is recommending that
no parking regulations be established along C.S.A.H. #5 during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 10:00
a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. He explained that the School District has informed the Police
Department that there will be four, paid traffic monitors in various locations and there will be
two drop-off points at either end of the school. He stated that there could be 452 potential
walkers in the City and 170 have committed to pay for bus service. The Director of Public
Works has assured them that the trails along City roads would be clear of snow in the beginning.
Once they know how many students will be walking they will further evaluate the situation.

Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to adopt Resolution
#02-03-081 requesting that Anoka County establish no parking regulations on C.S.A.H. # from
the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

City Council/March 26, 2002
