Water <br /> <br />Mr. Marston then commented on some problems that face the city as far as the <br />Plan is concerned. In the "Land Use Element" the Metro Council might ask for <br />five (5) acres minimum lot size. The City of Ramsey presently uses 2.5 acre <br />residential and 1 acre commercial minimum with a very strict soils ordinance. <br />The reason being that the city has better control, and it is more economically <br />feasible as far as utilities are concerned. <br /> <br />In the "Transportation Plan", one big problem facing the planning of east- <br />west collector streets is the fact that most of the hight ground is already <br />built upon, leaving only low or marginal ground left to work with. <br /> <br />Pete Raatikka, City Engineer, then presented some information about the CAB <br />interceptor. Plans are still being worked on as to where and when portions <br />of Ramsey might get sanitary sewer lines. <br /> <br />Councilman Gary Reimann asked if any calculations have been made as to how much <br />flow would be allowed for Ramsey. Engineer Raatikka said that no calculations <br />have been made on Industrial Land and that this should be looked into. Plans <br />for sanitary sewer are not complete as yet. <br /> <br />Dennis Donovan then briefly went over proposed Park Plan. Some problems that <br />he sees is that maintenance costs on 10-15 neighborhood parks would be very <br />high. Probably what is needed is one centralized park where a variety of <br />things could be installed; pointing out possible use of the 40 acre parcel <br />of land donated to the city by Federal Cartridge Corp. Also cross-country <br />ski trails are being developed in certain areas of the city. In regard to <br />preserving Trott Brook from Hwy 47 east to the Rum River, the best approach <br />in his opinion would be to use scenic easements wherever possible. <br /> <br />Merle Anderson, 6224 Rivlyn Ave, said he didn't think it was appropriate to <br />have B-1 zoning next to the Mississippi River where he lives. It was pointed <br />out by Mayor Gamec that there was an error on the proposed zoning map and <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - COMPREHENSIVE PLAN - Page 2 4/28/80 <br /> <br /> <br />
