Do HOUSING

HOUSING

Ramsey is not currently part of the Metropolitan Urban Ser-
vice Area. However, a portion of Ramsey is scheduled to be
added to the urban service area between 1981 - 1990. As
portions of Ramsey become more urbanized, a more deliberate
effort is necessary to assure that the housing needs of this
region of the metropolitan area are met. Housing programs
Ramsey will initiate when utilities are available include:

1) Allowing 6,000 square feet lots for single family homes
which are part of a Planned Unit Development.

2) Allow multiple family densities as high as 20 units per
acre.

Encourage developers to use of Minnesota Housing Finance
Agency for financing multiple family developments.

4) Encourage construction of energy efficient housing.

5) Adoption of a truth-in-housing ordinance.

100
