W., Ramsey, MN <br /> <br />SUB.JECT: Noise Level at the Intersection of HighWays 47 and 5 <br /> <br />Since this building opened on October 1, .1999, the noise level at the intersection of ' <br />Highways 47 and 5 has increased at least ten times. This is the result of Population <br />growth and much more trafficJ 'We feel the speed limit should be no more than35 <br />miles per hour north and west of this intersection, Until drivers have left the newly <br />populated area of this intersection. <br /> <br />There are some drivers who use this corner to lay down a strip of rubber whenever <br />.they feel like it, using it as a drag strip. <br /> <br />We feel there should be some type of noise barrier, i.e., fence, shrubs etc. This could <br />.possibly reduce some of the noise. Sometimes it is so loud that you' cannot hear the <br />T.V. or converse with friends. <br /> <br />It seems only reasonable with the building and population growth .of this area, that' <br />a lower speed limit would make the offenders think before they speed, and if they <br />don't, it certainly should increase revenue for the city.'s overall budget cost& <br /> <br />Please look into this matter.
