In the Spring of 2004, the City Council authorized the creation of schematic
plans for a new Municipal Center. At this point, the schematic design is' completed. The
City Council reviewed the schematic plan during their November 9, 2004 work session.
.At that meeting, the City Council directed Staff to bring forward the preliminary site plan
for the new Municipal Center to the Planning Commission for. review. Prior to making a
final decision on whether or not to build a new Municipal Center, the City Council
wanted the site plan to go through the approval process for two reasons: a) to make sure
the facility will meet the standards of the Ramsey Town Center; and b) to identify any
changes needed in the plan so as to better get an understanding of costs of the project.

As previously mentioned, the Ramsey Municipal Center is proposed to be 69,070' square
feet in size with the possibility of adding- on another 10,700 square ~'eet. The Ramsey
Municipal Center will be located in the core of the Ramsey Town Center at the comer of
Sunwood Drive and Sapphire St. The City Parking Ramp will be located directly to the
west of the Ramsey Municipal center.

The Ramsey Municipal Center will provide for offices for City employees, Council
Chambers to conduct public meetings, and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to
