Planning Commission Update —June 30, <br />2017 <br />July 6 Planning Commission DRAFT Agenda <br />City . <br />RAMSEY <br />• July 6 Planning Commission <br />o Pearson Place Preliminary Plat [Anderson] <br />o Silver Oaks Second Addition [Henderson] <br />o Greenway Terrace (Aeon) [Maass] <br />o Cole Addition Preliminary Plat [Henderson] <br />o Purmort COR Architecture Appeal [Gladhill] <br />o Bunker Lake Boulevard Industrial Park Sketch Plan [Gladhill] <br />o Oien Home Occupation [Maass] <br />o Sis Variance [Linton] <br />o Review Current Accessory Structure Regulations (based on June 13 City Council Citizen Input) <br />o Receive Progress Report on Comprehensive Plan Update <br />Northfork Meadows Update <br />Paxmar introduced their 149 lot subdivision at Alpine Drive and Puma Street at the June 27, 2017 Work Session. Three <br />(3) key themes emerged from discussion amongst City Councilmembers; 1) Reliability of Comprehensive Plan <br />consistency, 2) Public Engagement, and 3) Density Transition. Consensus of the City Council was to continue the <br />conversation, starting with a public workshop. The City Council also expressed the importance of meaningful density <br />transitioning. Staff is working on the logistics for a public workshop in July. <br />Comprehensive Plan Update <br />On June 12, the City wrapped up 'Phase 1' public engagement, which focused on listening sessions and issue <br />identification. The project will now enter policy development and drafting individual chapters. The July Steering <br />Committee Meeting will be an important point in moving forward. <br />Finally, October is annually celebrated as National Community Planning Month by the American Planning Association. <br />The City is planning on using this opportunity to roll out significant drafts of our Comprehensive Plan Update. Staff is in <br />the process of scheduling three (3) community workshops in individual neighborhoods during the month of October is <br />areas outside of City Hall. More details to come on this. <br />Tour of Ramsey with Metropolitan Council Member Ed Reynoso —July 17 <br />The Metropolitan Council has invited the City for a discussion with District 9 Metropolitan Council Ed Reynoso, <br />representing the Ramsey area. Staff is working on logistics of a mobile tour of Ramsey. Council Members have done a <br />number of municipal tours over the past year and have greatly enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about the specific <br />wins/challenges of each city in the Metro. He would like the opportunity to learn more about the City's future goals and <br />see how the Metropolitan Council might be a helpful partner.
