15 Minutes CASE <br /> <br /> REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO: 1) ESTABLISH AND OPERATE <br />A LANDFILL FOR WASTE CONCRETE A~D CONCRETE-RELATED MATERIALS; 2) <br />EXCAYATE AND FILL MATERIALS IN T~E OPERATION OF THE PROPOSED LANDFILL; <br /> CASE OF BLADROLM BROTHERS <br /> By: Acting Zoning Administrator Merland Otto <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Bladholm Brothers is requesting a conditional use permit to establish and <br />operate a landfill on the old Prestressed property in order to dispose of <br />approximately 45,000 cubic yards of waste concrete from past, current and <br />future pipe and prestressed concrete product manufacturing. Bladholm is <br />proposed to operate this landfill over a 24 year period. <br /> <br />In addition, Bladholm Brothers is requesting a conditional use permit to <br />excavate soils from the site for the landfill operation. Bladholm is <br />proposing to remove approximately 25,400 cubic yards of soil from the <br />site. These soils would be used for construction and filling on the <br />remainder of their property. <br /> <br />For your information, the following items are enclosed: <br /> <br />a) Site location <br />c) Public hearing minutes dated September 8, 1988 <br />d) Comments of Merland Otto dated September 14, 1988 <br />e) Planning and Zoning findings of fact <br />f) Proposed conditional use permit <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on September <br />8, 1988. 0n October 12, 1988, the Planning Commission recommended ad option <br />of findings of fact and denial of Bladholm's request for a conditional use <br />permit. <br /> <br />Mr. Merland Otto met with representatives of Bladholm Brothers on October <br />21 to review options for disposal of the debris left on the property by <br />former ~wner, Prestressed Concrete.
