c^s /O <br /> <br />Memo <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />December 30, 2004 <br /> <br />Ramsey Planning Commission <br /> <br />Community Development Staff <br /> <br />Staft Update <br /> <br />Past 'Planning Commission Cases: <br /> <br />In the month of December, the City Council considered the following items: <br /> <br />Made the current Environmental Policy Task Force into a permanent body with the <br />adoption of an ordinance creating the "Environmental Quality Board. It is anticipated <br />that the Board will review the City's environmental regulations and. provide <br />environmental education to the City's residents. Review of the subdivisions will not be <br />part their charge. A copy of the ordinance creating the Board is attached for your <br />review. <br /> <br />Approved the Conditional Use Permit Request and Preliminary Site Plan by Ramdance to <br />operate a drive-thru for the Pond retail building in the Ramsey Town Center. Their <br />approval was based on a revised layout of the'drive-thru. The Planning Commission will <br />be reviewing the final site plan for this building as part of the January meeting. <br /> <br />Reviewed and approved the sketch plan for Town Center Gardens 3~a Addition. The <br />Developer, Brightkeys, has revised the plan based on Planning Commission input. The <br />Council approved the Comprehensive Plan Amendment to change only a small portion of <br />the development site (south of the new east-west road) to Mixed Use, which allows for <br />densities up to ten acres. The Planning Commission may see the Preliminary Plat for the <br />development at the February meeting. <br /> <br />The Council reviewed and approved the preliminary site plan for the proposed Ramsey <br />Municipal Facility. The Council is eXpected to make some final decisions regarding the <br />project in the next few months. <br /> <br />The Council authorized the commencement of an Environmental Assessment Worksheet <br />(EAW) tbr the proposed Sewer and Water extensions. The EAW is'required whenever <br />the potential flow of a proposed pipe extension will be greater than 1 million gallons per <br />day. Oakwood Land Development will be paying for the EAW with the Minnesota <br />Pollution Control Agency (PCA) will be the Responsible Governmental Unit (RGU) <br />reviewing the EAW. <br /> <br />75 <br /> <br /> <br />
