This positi6n was advertised and interviewed. Nick Maras is <br />recommended for the position with a Starting date of December 29, 2004. The Personnel <br />Committee recommended approval <br /> <br />6) Consider Ending Probationary PeriOd for Public Works Maintenance Worker <br /> <br />Numan Resources Manager Reed indicated this case is to consider ending the probationary <br />period for Public Works Maintenance Worker Michael Berge. The Personnel Committee <br />recommended approval. <br /> <br />7) Consider Ending Probationary Period for Information Technology Manager <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed advised this case is to consider ending the probationary <br />period for Information TechnolOgy Manager Dan Bush. He has completed the <br />probationary period satisfactorily. The Personnel Committee recommended approval. <br /> <br />9) Consider Authorizing Benefits Contracts for 2005 <br /> <br />l-fuman Resources Manager Reed indicated the City currently receives health, dental and life <br />insurance benefits through Blue Cross BlUe Shield, Delta Dental and the Standard respectively. <br />Staff is recommending that the City remain with these three companies for benefits in 2005. In <br />addition, this year, staff is introducing a new benefit: an employee assistance program (EAP) <br />administered by T.E.A.M. The purpose of the employee assistance program is to provide <br />employees with confidential counseling, services related to marriage, stress, finances, legal <br />issues, etc. Also, in the past the City has administered its flexible spending plan in-house. <br />Staff is proposing that the flexible spending plan be out-sourced to Passport for 2005.
